Immediately after the cessation of the Second World War people began to think that the world’s basic values are clear and justifiable . Both global politics and social relations were depending on the thoughts of gain , beneficial changes , belief in the rational , enlightenment , advancement , and the potential to ground any phenomenon from a logical point of view . However , starting from the second half of the 60’s, the world began to degrade and now , 40 years later , we dwell in a different kind of reality .
We effortlessly mark those innovations which are given us by new technology, but we almost never realize the fact that there are concrete ideas standing behind those inventions . The nature of the future adjustment was initially found by those people, who more often than not lived anteceding their time – philosophers and authors. Among the numerous authors whose works have served for pleasure , there have been several of them who have given people a new vision . They have more effectively than others other authors shaped and formulated new ideas and have in the end created formed a new intelligent and emotional substantiation of the future. They have seen challenges in the mundane of our lives and have shed light onto a set of problems, which were going on without being spotted . They have aided us to realize the new problems , and gave us new aspirations .
These were the authors who have shaped the mindset of the entire generation, which has observed the period of cardial change; change, which was seen as chaos at the beginning of the 21 first century. They have attracted our attention to the most problematic issues of the previous era ; those dilemmas , which the people , having lived through the world wars and unprecedented sufferings , was unwilling to face . Lastly they were raising the main dilemma “How will we live in the world of future?”
In this paper we will specify some of the most prominent authors of the 20th century. They have all quite influenced literature of their time, have showed trends and problems which were classic to their society and the period of time they existed in, and have motivated the audience meditate on the running ideology of values, having them realize that it is far away from being flawless. One of the most fascinating feature of their writing is that in mostly they have awake the readers’ attention in books and written matter. In this aspect one of the most interesting success works is that of a well known author John Cheever.
The success of Joan Rowling can be called special as she has become the first writer in the world to earn $1 billion by authoring fairytales. She is currently spending a significant part of her earnings on charity, fighting poverty and illness. The plot of the book was found while she was on the train from Manchester to London. When the publisher has first decided to bring out her book, she has awarded her 1500 pounds together with a loving advice — to look for a permanent job. He was unaware of the fact that the young author would be able to make money of writing books. Joann has proved the opposite - having produced a series of amazing fairytales, she has made the so-called non-reading people get back to reading books.
This paper is not able to enumerate and more or less exactly list all authors who have provided their gift to the today’s literature. They have been writing and presenting ideas exactly into the heads of the millions, and therefore were shaping the future. Thus, as we can see, these authors were not writing for relaxation only, but they were also playing a considerable role in molding the culture and the looks of a civilization of the 20th century.
